Farther Foundation helps students break free from the constraints of poverty and propels them toward their highest aspirations.

We provide opportunities for eager and deserving students to travel worldwide and interact with individuals who have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

They participate in programs where they are immersed in new cultures, learn and develop skills, provide community service, cultivate leadership potential and attain personal growth.

“I found myself whispering a silent ‘thank you’ week after week of my journey.” –Sparkle

This past summer, 33 eager and deserving students were awarded Farther Foundation scholarships that enabled them to have life-changing experiences across the country and around the world. They studied on college campuses from Stanford to Harvard and had immersive cultural experiences and provided community service in countries including Mongolia, Tanzania, Colombia and Jordan.

Upon their return, Our students share their photos and stories with us, and we share them with you in our annual publication, Reflections, 2017.

On behalf of our grateful students, thank you for making these experiences possible. Please Donate Now to support more deserving students.

  • Save-the-date, September 28, for StorySlam: A Benefit for Farther Foundation. Find out who our special guest host and featured storyteller is (Hint: It might be Mark Caro).
  • In our Alumni Spotlight, meet Corbin Sanders. What’s next now that he has graduated from Morehouse College, and how did he get those photos with President Obama and Chance the Rapper?
  • Maria will learn about global health issues in the Dominican Republic this summer. We spotlight Maria as one of 34 deserving students receiving life-changing opportunities to learn and grow this summer.
  • Impact: Why are our students going to college and graduating at a higher rate than their peers?
